Ghana’s President-elect John Dramani Mahama has pledged to rectify the perceived missteps of the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration as he prepares to assume office on January 7, 2025.
In his New Year message, Mahama shared his vision for a government centered on efficiency, fiscal discipline, and inclusivity. He emphasized his determination to address corruption and curb wasteful spending.
“We will work tirelessly to correct the outgoing administration’s many wrongs, tackle corruption with dogged determination, and reduce excessive government expenditures,” he said.

Mahama urged Ghanaians to come together in unity and optimism to embrace a collective vision for national progress and prosperity.
He highlighted the importance of empowering businesses and entrepreneurs, promising policies that remove barriers to growth and foster job creation and wealth generation.
“To business owners and entrepreneurs, I want to assure you that my administration will support your efforts to create jobs and wealth,” Mahama affirmed.
