
President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in 17 newly approved ministers, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to efficient governance. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Jubilee House, following their approval by Parliament.
This latest induction brings the total number of sworn-in ministers to 42, with 13 deputy ministers awaiting parliamentary approval. President Mahama also revealed plans to appoint four additional deputy ministers in the coming days to meet his targeted 60-minister threshold.

Mahama Calls for Modesty and Accountability
During the ceremony, President Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to a lean and efficient government, emphasizing the need for public officials to avoid extravagant lifestyles and remain accountable to the people.
“The hallmark of this government will be modesty and respect for the Ghanaian people. There will be no room for arrogance and pomposity. The resources of the state must be protected and used prudently,” he stated.
The president urged his newly sworn-in ministers to remain focused on service delivery and ensure that the administration’s policies directly improve the lives of Ghanaians.
